OUR STORY

The family behind Platonic has been making fragrances since 1950.

Inside the family’s R&D lab — bottles of essential oils, absolutes, and aromatic chemicals on shelves of the working perfumer’s bench, lit by tall windows.

Three generations of perfumers have run the house. For seventy-five years the work has been the same: composing fragrance from essential oils, absolutes, and aromatic chemicals, then supplying it to fine perfume houses, attar producers, and body- and home-care brands across India and abroad. The Government of India named the family fragrance house the country’s highest perfume exporter twice, in 1993, and again in 1995.

The work was the family’s. The name on the bottle was always someone else’s.

The fourth generation trained in Grasse, then back inside the family business. After enough years of building fragrances that other brands would sell under their own names, the fourth chose to build a brand of the family’s own. That brand is Platonic.

The Essentials, six perfumes to begin, composed in-house, built from the same materials, the same standards, and the same lineage that has formulated fragrance for three generations before.

How we make them

Every Platonic fragrance is composed in-house, from scratch, using essential oils, absolutes, and aromatic chemicals, the same materials used by the world’s most respected fragrance houses. Each batch is fully IFRA-compliant, cruelty-free, and free of phthalates and parabens.

There is no story about a French village. There is no collector tax. The bottle does what a bottle is supposed to do. Quality first, always.
